R & D Department for educational institute

It was my fortune to have attended the seminar on 'Bridging the gap between Academia and Corporate' at Oxford Management Institute, co - incidentally i am currently working on the same project and trying to find the solutions for it.

What i see is, in most of the institutes the faculties teach students to pass the exams not train them to pass the exam of life. Similarly, Students as well do not seem to put in much efforts to develop themselves for the future and just look to pass their university papers with good rank. Well, that's not sufficient folks!! What we need to do is prepare ourselves for the real challenge and real challenge is the corporate challenge.

The industrial visits, internship programs and various others do help students to gain some experience but then that's only for a short period. The initiation has to come from within the institute and

I propose the institutes to have R & D Department for each institutes. These department will look out for constant improvements in the educational fields. They will compare their institute with others not just in their country but also in the other countries which will keep them updated with the technological advancement and others.

They may keep themselves in contact with the corporate offices and know about their different requirements at different stages. After all the students studying management do so for the sake of adjusting with the different situations at the corporate levels.

So R & D is one of the options i propose to fill the gap between the corporate and the academia.

Cheers!!
